“Is this true?” the king asked her. And she told him the story. So he directed one of his officials to see that everything she had lost was restored to her, including the value of any crops that had been harvested during her absence.

2 Kings 8:6

Everyone has a story to tell. Will your story be man-made or God ordained?  Every story has an introduction, a body and it’s conclusion. Phoebe Knapp (1839-1908) wrote the Lyric “Blessed Assurance” saying This is my story……. What is your story?

The introduction to your story is definitely not your conclusion. The introduction is followed by the body, the major part that influences your conclusion. A body filled and guided by truths and revelation from the Father will ultimately bring a glorious conclusion.

Which part of the story are you writing? What ever the stage, it is important to obey the revealed truths rather than walk in fear and trepidation. One must also be guided by Solomon’s wisdom concerning the purposes of man saying, “Humans have many plans but it is only the purpose of God that prevails (Proverbs 19:21)” Lets look at the following stories:

In 2 Kings 8, the woman subscribed to the truths from the man of God. She left the comfort of her home and went to a foreign land having been told that there was an impending famine. The conclusion to her story is restoration and glory going to God.

Naomi, told her story (Book of Ruth). She left with her husband in search of greener pastures. They lost everything but she heard that God had visited Bethlehem-judah. She followed the truth to be in the presence of God and the conclusion was the birth of Obed, the father of Jesse and the lineage of Christ.

The woman of Samaria at the well with Jesus told her story (John 4:7-39): Her story changed  from being one who had five husbands to an evangelist bringing glory to the Lord when she decided to obey the revelation she had of Christ

Which part of your life’s story are you writing? Are you writing the introduction or the body? Continue to fill the body of your story with truths and revelations not with peoples ideas or suppositions. Ensure that you walk in obedience to the revealed even though it may appear scary as what you have seen has not been seen before. Feed your faith not your fears as you conclude your story. For the glory belongs to God and the generations to come. Amen
