But I confess my sins; I am deeply sorry for what I have done.
Psalm 38:18
Sorry is a difficult word to utter, however it is a great stimulant to the soul. Sorry is not for the faint hearted. Saying sorry is irrespective of status so everyone must say sorry whenever they err. The young must say sorry, so must the older folks, the rich, the poor, the educated or uneducated, the president or the peasant farmer say sorry to whom ever they may have hurt or harmed. Refusal to acknowledge error out of pride will lead only to shame as Solomon declared, pride leads only to shame; it is wise to be humble (Proverbs 11:2)
Sorry is being remorseful or being repentant. As an acronym, sorry stands for Stimulating Obedience to the Revealed that Redeems You.
Solomon prayed asking the Lord, If they come to their senses and are sorry for what they’ve done, and plead with you in the land where they are captives, saying, ‘We have sinned. We have done wrong. We have been wicked,’ (2 Chronicles 6:37). The Lord responded saying, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear their prayer from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country. (2 Chronicles 7:14). Saying sorry opens the heavens for your prayers to be answered.
David a man after God’s own heart said, But I confess my sins; I am deeply sorry for what I have done. Psalm 38:18.
Jesus asked us to say sorry when he said, Even if he wrongs you seven times in a single day, if he turns back to you each time and says he’s sorry and will change, you must forgive him (Luke 17:4).
David, a king said he was sorry when he erred against God. His son Solomon requested forgiveness from God when the people sinned against him. The Lord Jesus asks us to say sorry when we offend each other so we can be forgiven.
It is imperative that we use this stimulant of our souls every time we err either to humankind or God the father. At this point the most important person to say sorry to and be thankful for is Jesus Christ for nailing our sins on the cross. This act of repentance will nourish your soul. In the same vain as we say sorry to one another our souls get nourished so we have the perfect peace, joy and love that comes from the Almighty. In addition the heavens become open to hear and give answers to our prayers. Amen
