The purpose of this order is to arouse the love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a genuine faith. 1 Tim 1:5 (GNT)
Can any person or product have a pure form? Is there anyone free from defilement? Is there a product free from harm or separate from any extraneous material? It may be difficult to find such purity. It is an impossible task to accomplish by strength for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) as Paul describes humankind. As individuals let us look at the meaning from the acronym p.u.r.e: that is being perfect, upright, reverential and shuns evil.
The psalmist ask, How can a young man keep his way pure? He then answered,“By guarding it according to your word” (Psalm 119:9). John tells us where the word comes from and who is the word; “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). This Word has the power to purify, for Christ said, “Make them pure and holy through teaching them your words of truth” (John 17:17) and Paul told us the mechanism by which this happens; For whatever God says to us is full of living power……….cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are. This purifying agent, the Word is Jesus Christ. He is celebrated this month. Let us continue to seek and learn of Him as He perfects our ways and all that concerns us (Psalm 138:8). Pursue this purification process with every fibre of you being as the coming years will bring a new wave of promotion to those being perfected. Amen
