Give us this day our daily bread.

Thank God, it is a new day, another day gifted to me by God. It is a day to show my gratitude to Him and to do what glorifyʼs Him. It is time to count the day as a blessing, having the breath of life and the opportunity to pursue purpose with Him. Therefore, I proclaim the Lordʼs decree: “You are my son; today I have become your father (Psalm 2:7). The Lord is my Father and He has determined the day. He will give me my daily bread as it is in heaven. He will let His kingdom reign down on earth through me as it is in Heaven, therefore I have the chance to make a difference to humanity.I shake off any negative thoughts I may be harboring as Yahweh does things that are very good. Genesis 1:31 states, “God looked at what he had done. All of it was very good! Evening came and then morning—that was the sixth day.”

I have woken up to another morning and I am not to worry about tomorrow as tomorrow will take care of itself. I have enough to worry about today (Matthew 6:34). However the scriptures assure me that God will give me my daily bread (Matthew 6:11)and all things will come together in a “very good” way. I should therefore not despair nor be discouraged as the Lord will do a new thing, it will spring forth (Isaiah 43:19), so I have to be attentive and watchful rather than hiding in despair. As the Lord provides for me today, He is also freeing me from the chains of life. He has determined to help me overcome the critics who see nothing good about my ideas. He will also free me from those who humiliate me or are intolerant of anything I do.

He is in control of the day and nothing takes Him by surprise. He will give me strength. I am assured by Paulʼs declaration, “Donʼt worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel” (Philippians 4:6-7 CEV) The peace this day brings “will control the way I think and feel” so I will enjoy the day as I continue to trust and believe in Yahweh who determined the day.
