When he finished speaking, he told Simon, “Take the boat into deep water, and lower your nets to catch some fish. After the men had done this, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear. Luke 5:4,6
A human being born of a woman is short of days and full of troubles, was one of Jobʼs comments. What a true statement. One has plans to execute and therefore makes contacts to ensure completion. However, in the process to completion, one faces different obstacles to the point that one may give up with no more fighting strength. What projects have you set about to accomplish? How long is it taking? Months or even years? Are you making any headway? Have you got to the point of desperation because there is nothing to show for all your efforts? This day, Christ is asking you to “go into the deep” of what you have been doing. Deep means, extending far below the surface. In other words going beyond your present level of search or actions.
I define DEEP, as the desire to execute excellent plans. Do not give up your desire to execute excellent plans. Like Simon, who was hesitant with his plans saying, “Master, weʼve worked hard all night and havenʼt caught anything” you must respond positively to Christ by declaring, “because you say so, I will let down the nets”
You can declare, “Truly I have worked so hard over the years but have not achieved anything spectacular with my strategies and efforts. I have not been able to show any tangible evidence for my years of toiling. Nevertheless because the Lord instructs me to revisit places and actions I have previously accessed, I will take another leap of faith and go into those deep places. I will not fear but with faith and patience I will take one more step to execute these excellent plans. It may be painful in itʼs execution but ultimately Godʼs glory will be seen as it was said of Simon Peter, when he cast in the nets, “They caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear. Luke 5:6.
I am taking this action of faith and I expect an increase that is beyond my sphere of influence to be gained. An increase that will make all believe in the Lord. I will be courageous as I enjoy the deep with the Lord. Amen
