As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven……..Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” Acts 9:3-6 (NKJV)
Change is frowned upon by society especially changing your mind on a long held view. However, change in the face of new truths is the prerequisite for progress and sustainability. Anyone refusing to change when confronted by new truths stands the risk of becoming obsolete like the dinosaurs. Change demands obedience to the revealed truth: Paul, meeting Christ on the road to Damascus asked, “Lord what do you want me to do? After being informed that his human ambitions needed converting into Godly experiences, he obeyed.
Change is painful and demands tenacity in the face of adversities: Apostle Paul, having converted his human ambition of destroying the mandate of the disciples to nurturing Godly experiences experienced the storms on his way to Rome. Also he was ship wrecked and after landing on the shores of Malta was falsely accused as a bad person when a venomous viper fastened on his hand. He was accused of running from justice but justice has caught up with him (Acts 28)
In all these situations, Apostle Paul was vindicated by the Lord. Have you received instructions from the Lord which demands a change to your way of thinking and lifestyle? If you have obey by converting your human ambitions to nurturing Godly experiences as He will strengthen you through the change process including any adversities. Do not disobey or belittle the truth because His word is eternally verified and established as real. It is time to make the change. Change and leave a lasting legacy of God’s experiences in your life. Amen.
