This is My command: be strong and courageous. Never be afraid or discouraged because I am your God, the Eternal One, and I will remain with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
We live in an era of political correctness with a fast changing pace of technological advancement, innovative ideas and visions which compete with one another. This pace of innovation sometimes makes you wonder whether your god-given assignment will ever be fulfilled.
Take heart, only be courageous. Courage is defined as the quality of spirit that enables one to encounter danger without showing fear. The acronym, however, gives an affirmative option of being Committed to Obeying and Understanding the Revelations of the Almighty God on Earth. The assurance of this is His presence which is always with you.
Appreciating and acknowledging His presence is key to being courageous. Moses sort this when he asked the Lord “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” and God answered “I will be with you… (Exodus 3:11-12). Assured of His presence, he was able to bring the people of Israel out of Egypt.
Joshua was assured of this when he was commanded to be courageous (Joshua 1:9). Jesus assures us that He will never abandon us as orphans but will come to us (John 14:18) and indeed also stated, The Father and I will make our abode with you”
The assurance of His presence drives passion which enables the fulfillment of one’s assignment. Also, the assurance of HIs presence gives one courage to take on seemingly impossible tasks e.g. Moses instructing Pharaoh “Let the people go”. His presence also enabled Joseph to give wisdom unheard of in the land of Egypt thereby giving him a position above the native wisemen.
Only be courageous with the task given by the Almighty. He is with you and will enable you to accomplish what appears impossible. He will grant you favor, wisdom or strength if needed. Resolve to commit to the revelation. Stay focus and let your commitment and knowledge of His presence drive your passions. He will surely enable you accomplish your purpose regardless of any competing challenges. Be encouraged. Amen
