So if the Son sets you free, you will be absolutely free
John 8:36
Can you really be free? In this world of connectivity, networking and other relations, can one enjoy freedom from other people’s interventions or comments? However the word informs us, whom the Lord sets free is free indeed.
Are you free or do you feel entangled and in chains?
When we talk about chains we instinctively look back at the time of slavery or people in prison where their liberties have been taken away. No this is not the freedom talked about by the Lord.
Being free is the ability to pursue your faith and your faith’s direction in whatever circumstance or situation. Being free is your ability to go ahead regardless of the chains that conspire to restrict your movements. We are talking about the chains of criticism suffered by Nehemiah at the hands of Sanballat and Tobias, the chains of humiliation suffered by Mordecai at the hands of his Haman, the chains of antagonism suffered by David at the hands of his brothers when he asked about the reward, the chains of intolerance and negativity suffered by Joseph at the hands of his brothers and the chains of sarcasms suffered by Job at the hands of his four friends.
These chains are not physical in nature but they are actions that purport to restrict your progress
You can only overcome these chains by faith. The faith that does not query nor deny the Maker as God with whom all things are possible. The faith that acts on what is hoped for knowing that He who made the promise is faithful. The faith that is not afraid of kings like Moses going before Pharaoh. The faith that is not afraid at pursuing impossible looking tasks like Haman and Esther getting the king to reverse an irreversible law. The faith that simply does obeys instructions like the servants at the wedding of Cana who served water as wine with the comment from the guest, “the best wine has been served last”.
When you are able to Faithfully Realise and Expertly Express your thoughts and ideas then you are truly F.R.E.E. This is Freedom. Have faith and walk in the freedom the Lord has given you. Be free. Amen
