so I replied…..: “I am doing a great work! Why should I stop to come and visit with you? Nehemiah 6:3 (TLB)
Stop simply means to obstruct or render impassable. Being stopped in the journey of life can be frustrating especially for reasons which do not make “common sense” Such instances depict the acronym Satanic Tactics Opposing Progress.
When confronted with a temporary stoppage you must decide- is this a warning from the Father to wait or is this a plan to derail my destiny?
Let us look at some examples of such actions
Sanballat and Tobiah tried to stop the progress of Nehemiah: they invited him for a meeting to this effect and this is Nehemiah’s reply, ‘I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?’ (Nehemiah 6:3). Indeed why should your work stop…? Satan tried to stop Jesus from fulfilling the plan of salvation but Jesus replied each time, “It is written….” (Luke 4:4-12). Now when the devil could not succeed he left until an opportune time.
The prophet, Agabus tried to stop Paul from journeying to Jerusalem. He replied after their desire to prevent him from traveling saying, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be tied up, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” (Acts 21:13).
Satanic Tactics Opposing Progress is usually accompanied by chaos to the change you hope to make. Those opposed to your progress are usually trying to protect their gain and to maintain their control over the situation and most importantly to take away the Father’s glory.
When confronted with S.T.O.P turn quickly to the Truths you know. Turn the satanic tactics to the Saviours truth. Like Christ seek the written word or like Nehemiah, inform your detractors that you are carrying out an important project, a project of God that brings Him glory or like Paul ask the detractors, Why do you want to discourage me?
Remember that nothing is impossible with the Lord. He is always with you so no one can stop the progress of His instructions.
Therefore in all your ways acknowledge Him so he directs you. His words are Yea and Amen. His words never return to him without fulfilling its purpose. Be assured and turn satanic tactics into the Saviour’s truths. Amen
