Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.’
Deuteronomy 31:6
How many times have you approached a task with fear and trepidation? More so when one’s assessment of “what it takes” to accomplish the task far outweighs the capacity to complete the task. Bold means daring. Bold is planned with courage.
The acronym B.O.L.D stands for believing and obeying the Lord’s directives. Let us look at some examples. First Joshua (Joshua 1-8) who after the death of Moses was to take the people to the promise land. He was instructed to be strong and courageous. He followed the Lord’s instruction and succeeded.
The second is David (1 Samuel 17) He confronted Goliath when the regular soldiers were hiding. He knew how to believe and obey the Lord’s directive when he declared, “All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” (i Samuel 17:47). The third is Queen Esther (Esther 4:14-17) who had to approach the King to make a request when it was not permissible to do so. She did, asking for the Lord’ guidance and succeeded in reversing a decree.
The fourth is the story of the servants who served water as wine when instructed by Jesus (John 2:1-9). This resulted with the comment from the governor of the feast, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now.” (John 2:9)
What instructions have you received? What ideas are burning in our heart which need to be fulfilled? What is crippling the brilliant ideas you have? Is it the fear to lead? Think about Joshua. Is it the size of the opposition? Think about the boldness of David. Is there a law that restricts your desires? Think about Queen Esther. Is the idea so ridiculous that people may ridicule you if you mentioned it? Think about the servants who served water as wine.
Are you prepared to dare the unknown to bear the treasures? If your answer is yes, Be B.O.L.D. Believe in what you have heard, dreamt of or burning in your heart. Take the first step of obedience and allow the Lord to continue directing your affairs in delivering what eye has not seen before nor ear heard off. Amen
