Margaret Tatcher used the phrase, “The lady is not for turning” at a Conservative Party conference in October 1980 and resigned ten years later. To turn means, to change from a given use or purpose, as to another purpose or end. Sometimes this action is considered as weakness especially when the turn is about a change of an originally held position.I recall the horror on my face when a colleague “turned” from being a pediatrician after qualifying to work at the Stock Exchange. This action of his was a “real eye opener” to the concept.  “Tracking the Unusual to Reveal the New” as T.U.R.N. He felt his future was trading rather than looking after sick children.Moses turned and saw the new. He did not only turn his posture but he turned his whole life around from being a shepherd boy to lead the Jews out of Egypt (Exodus 3:4)

Abraham turned when he moved from  his homeland to a land he never knew (Genesis 12:1-4) David also turned when he confronted the Philistine whilst the army stood still. He gained the trust of the people and the king. He ultimately became leader (1 Samuel 23-37).Peter turned when he said at thy word i will cast in the net (Luke 5:4-7)

Saul turned when he said, Who are you Lord (Acts 9:1-6). Such turns bring ultimate goodness to all humankind. Are you ready to turn? Have you remained in the same position and posture for long? This is the season to take a look at the unusual happenings so you can uncover the new. Christ presents himself as the unusual that needs uncovering in some cases. For others, you have been contemplating new ways of working but fear has prevented you from taking that unusual action. Be bold, step out into the unknown to discover the new. Amen
