Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:24
Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. What comforting words we have from The Lord. He knows that our emotions can vary, yet He encourages us to call on Him. Do you have joy and if you do, is your joy full? Joy, simply means a feeling of great pleasure. Full joy is not just a feeling of great pleasure but a d i v i n e r e l a t i o n s h i p t h a t establishes divine authority and judgement. Full joy is a product of the Holy Spirit, it is perfect and it is not associated with anxiety or fear.
To experience full joy one has to ask in the name of Jesus. A.S.K. is Acknowledging the Savior as King in any situation. Anytime you acknowledge the Savior as K i n g y o u a r e m a k i n g a declaration to the situation, “You (The Savior) rule over your people with justice”(Psalm 45:6b) and therefore earthly wisdom and judgement succumb. Let us recount two biblical stories of such authority: In 1 Samuel 5:2-4 the ark of Covenant, symbol of God’s presence and power was placed in the same room as Dagon, an earthly god: Dagon fell, had its head, arms and legs cut off. In 2 Samuel 6:10-12, The ark of Covenant was placed in the house of Obededom and he became blessed of God.
As you acknowledge the Savior as King in your marriage, financial d e a l i n g s , r e l a t i o n s h i p s , inheritance, business, education, and the future, God’s justice will prevail and every opposing or repressive decision made by man will be overruled. Walk in the promise of full joy as you make the Holy Spirit the resident spirit in your affairs by asking in the name of Jesus. In all areas of your life where you are not experiencing full joy, make it a point to seek the word, establish it and be patient till you receive full joy. Let FULL JOY be your daily experience. Amen
