Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:5-8

When we talk about class we immediately begin to think of high and low classes based on wealth or finances one commands. As I write this devotion I am in the waiting room for first class passengers whilst those with ordinary tickets are in the foyer. I have had the opportunity to snacks, wait on comfortable seats and catch up with some work. This is not the class I am talking about. I want you to know and learn about another class. A class defined as Christ Like Actions in Solving “difficult” Situations confronting you. Christ is cool, calm and in control of all situations. Christ is in his class and wants you, his disciples to operate in this class, being cool, calm and in control of situations. Let us remind ourselves of some of the ways Christ brought solutions to problems and reflect on our current ways of dealing with situations and people and change to the new “CLASS” acts.

When the Pharisees confronted him with the woman caught in adultery (John 8:3-11). He did not chastise the woman but asked her to go away and sin no more. When the disciples were confronted with the storm on the seas: Jesus was asleep. How cool and calm is this? Note the behavior of the disciples! They were depending on their strength, agitated, confused and out of control. Is this what happens to you when you have to solve a problem? When the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of his garment. He asked, “Who touched me?” When the woman responded He said, “Thy faith has made you whole” When He met with Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-5), blind Bartemeus (Mark 10:46-50) and the woman of Samaria (John 4:5-10) He demonstrated His Class acts.

Ponder over these situations and think about what you will do when you come across such difficulties. Will you be able to remain cool, calm and in control or will you be agitated, aggressive and out of control? Jesus in the above encounters was calm, remained cool and in control. Resolve this day to operate with CLASS. The mind of Christ is devoid of pride, arrogance self-centredness and fault finding but it is endowed with humility and a servant attitude. May His grace abound to you as you embark on this path of Christ Like Actions in Solving difficult Situations. Remember that as a man thinks so is he. Therefore have the mind of Christ and think like Him when you are confronted with difficulties. Let the coming days and years ahead be classy. Let it be your prayer, God bless you as you endeavor to be a class act according to His grace. Amen
