The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
2 Corinthians 10:4
When weapons are mentioned, immediately one thinks about fire power. Wars are started or prevented based on the knowledge of the power of weapons each faction possesses. That is, whether they are inferior or superior. In recent years we have seen the war against “presumed weapons of mass destruction” and currently there is a war of words regarding the development of nuclear weapons by the leader of North Korea and the United States.
As children of God we have access to weapons not made by humans but by God. These weapons are freely available and have the power to demolish every stronghold. These are contained in the acronym Word, Eternal truths, the Almighty, Praise in Obedience to the Newness. Such weapons are frowned upon by the world. Let us look at the power these possess:
The Word is Christ. He created all things and power has been vested in His name for at his name every knee bows and every tongue confesses that He is Lord (Philippians 2:10). Eternal truths: Christ holds the eternal truth. He declares himself as the truth (John 14:6) The Kingdom principles outweigh earthly laws as every human truth is relative. Almighty: This attribute of the Father acknowledges his superiority over all creation. The Father is all-knowing, all-powerful and ever present
Praises bring you to the courts of His throne (Psalm 100:4) where you can find grace to help in times of need (Hebrews 4:16). Obedience is solely dependent on us and if we are, we will have the best of the land (Isaiah 1:19) also it indicates our love for Christ and the privileges such love accords us (John 14:23). Newness: we must accept to be
transformed into what he desires of us (Romans 12:2-3). In so doing we have all things becoming new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Are these the components of your weapon or do you look at the physical to combat the strongholds? Stay in the word, let this be more than your necessary food, depend on the eternal truths of the Almighty as Solomon advises, lean not unto your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6). Observe his peace and praise and be obedient to whatever He instructs. By doing this, you will experience the newness always.
Pick up your w.e.a.p.o.n and be not afraid of what man will do for the Giver of the w.e.a.p.o.n watches over you and will perform His promises at the appointed time. Amen.
